I’m currently one of the AHRC/BBC New Generation Thinkers. This prestigious competition means that, alongside nine other young academics, I’ll be making programmes for the radio as well as expanding my experience of print media and other areas of broadcast.
You can find more about the scheme on the BBC website.
After being introduced at Hay on Wye, I’ve already made one programme for Radio 3’s Free Thinking Programme – a short piece based on Margaret Storm Jameson, the subject of my Ph.D. research.
I’m most excited about the next phase, where I’ll be making programmes and hopefully doing some more writing about my new project on Writing the Refugee.
I’ve also done a lot of public lectures and academic conferences as part of my recent research projects. I will be appearing at this year’s BBC Free Thinking Festival.
