Creative Writing and Refugees

My latest project is collaborative, working with arts organisations, charities, creative writers and refugees themselves to think about how and why we encourage refugees to write. The project aims to think through the complexities of refugee storytelling as a popular way of engaging and creating community and as a way of processing trauma. It weights these potential benefits against of requiring further testimony or truth-telling from refugees, already ensnared in systems in which their stories might qualify or disqualify them from life-saving help. It also considers practical ways to make sessions more useful, more fun and more empowering for everyone.

Storm Jameson news coming soon!

I am very excited to be cooking up a new Storm Jameson-based project with some brilliant collaborators. This should be a timely and much-needed recognition of the growing interest in Jameson’s work as we approach a very special milestone. More details soon!
